6 Day Tour (min. 2 pax)
Day 1
You will be met at Semporna jetty and transferred overland to Lahad Datu (approx. 2hrs) for lunch, followed by a 83km drive through selectively logged forest, cocoa and soft-wood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq. km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah's lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orang Utan's. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area. The afternoon gives you the opportunity to explore the nature trail and nearby river. In the evening there is a slide show and if weather permits one can go spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals.

Day 2
You start the morning with a birdwalk before breakfast. You spend the whole day exploring the forest for birds and mammals, leading up to an escarpment with ancient burial coffins. There is a trek to a waterfall and dip in refreshing rock pools, before returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, there is a jungle walk through trails leading to canopy walkway.

Day 3
The day starts with a morning trek in search of birds and wildlife and after breakfast you head overland to Sukau (approx. 4hrs). On arrival, enjoy refreshing welcome drink before checking into Sukau Rainforest Lodge (see details below). In the late afternoon there is a river cruise in search of the 10 primate species including the Proboscis monkeys as they settle down on treetops along the Kinabatangan River. In the evening you return to Sukau Lodge for a solar heated hot shower, candle lit dinner and a slide show conducted by a naturalist guide.

Sukau Rainforest Lodge
The 20 rooms at the lodge are managed by Borneo Eco Tours. It was built in 1995 in traditional Malaysian architecture using several Borneo hardwood species. Built upon stilts the lodge has a lounge, gift shop, education centre, Hornbill Boardwalk with two elephant passes, three open decks for wildlife viewing, an enclosed garden, a riverside Melapi Restaurant, open sun-deck and river jetty. Electricity is supplied by an acoustic generator, and hot water by solar heaters. All rooms are twin bedded with ceiling fan, mosquito netting, attached bathroom, hot shower and toilets. River tours are conducted by boats powered by electric motors and four stroke outboard engines.
Day 4
Wake up to the call of Borneo gibbons and hornbills. At 6:00 am, you start the day with a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River in search of more wildlife and proceed to the Kelenanap ox-bow lake for a short jungle walk (if weather permits). You have the option to participate in the Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Program (KWICORP) by planting trees at the 64 acres of adopted land. In the afternoon there is the option of another river cruise or you can relax around the Lodge. After dinner there is an optional night safari cruise spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds (surcharge paid locally). You spend the night at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5
After breakfast you start the day with a return boat journey to Sandakan Jetty (approx. 2hrs 30mins) The tour stops for lunch before heading into Sandakan for a short tour including the Australian War Memorial. You then transfer to Sepilok Nature Resort where you spend the night.

Day 6
In the morning you transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center for a short video presentation. After the video you trek for 10 minutes through the rainforest to witness the feeding of orang utan's at around 10.00am After Lunch you return to the airport for your connecting flight back to Kota Kinabalu.
